Decent part-time gig

What they liked
Managers are understanding about schedule requests. They trained me even though I had zero kitchen experience. Free food during shifts is a nice perk.
What could improve
The pay is on the lower end. Closing shifts run late. Some of the equipment in the smaller locations is outdated and makes the job harder.

Good first restaurant job

What they liked
Flexible scheduling, especially if you are a student. They work with your availability and do not punish you for it. Free meal every shift. The team atmosphere in the kitchen is fun.
What could improve
The rushes are intense and you have to be able to keep up. Some locations are better managed than others. The Midtown spot is the best one to work at.

Kitchen that actually cares about its cooks

What they liked
Real food, not microwaved garbage. The head chef teaches you technique and gives you chances to develop specials. Staff meals are great. The promotion path from prep cook to sous chef is real, I have seen people do it.
What could improve
Friday and Saturday nights are brutal. The AC in the main kitchen struggles during summer. Pay for line cooks is average for Nashville but the tips share helps.
Company Response Angela Davis
Diana, we love having you in the kitchen. You are right that the AC is a problem in summer. We are replacing the HVAC system at the Broadway location this spring. Keep pushing for that sous chef spot, you are on the right track.
