Stick Welding (SMAW)

Shielded metal arc welding using consumable flux-coated electrodes and either DCEP or DCEN polarity depending on the rod and application. Stick welders thrive in structural, pipe, and field repair work where wind, dirt, and outdoor conditions rule out cleaner processes. Running a consistent bead across 6010, 7018, and low-hydrogen rods is the core of the trade.
