About This Role
Riverside Health Partners is hiring experienced caregivers to provide specialized in-home care for patients living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. This role requires patience, training in dementia-specific care techniques, and the ability to adapt to challenging and unpredictable situations.
You will provide personal care assistance, engage patients in cognitive stimulation activities, manage sundowning behaviors using redirection and environmental modifications, prepare meals that accommodate swallowing difficulties or dietary restrictions, ensure the home environment is safe (removing fall hazards, securing exits for wandering patients), and communicate daily observations to the patient's family and supervising nurse.
Candidates must have at least one year of direct patient care experience and either HHA certification or CNA licensure. Dementia care training is strongly preferred, and we provide additional specialized training during your first 30 days. You must be comfortable working alone in a patient's home and making judgment calls about when to escalate concerns to the clinical team.
